Johnson Family Updates: Validating my Cricut's expense

Even though I use and enjoy my Cricut for scrapbooking purposes, Joe has accused it of being slightly overpriced. Okay, he might have used the word "ridiculously". But I maintained that it would prove itself. And to establish its worth in my husband's eye, I made him something for his car out of vinyl in about 5 minutes and saved him quite a bit of money.

I had so much fun with vinyl, I also made Peggy some stuff for her house, and I made a Family Home Evening assignment board (which I kind of promised I would do when I got the Cricut...for Christmas a year and a half ago).

Funny Things Heard From Our Family

Joe was out prospecting at different houses. He knocked on a door, and two little children were trying to open it for him with no parent in sight.
Child one: I can't open the door!
Joe: Go get your mommy or your daddy to open it.
Child two: I can't. She's pooping!

I was showing Brooklin pictures during sacrament meeting at church.
LeiAnn: Brooklin, this is President Monson.
Brooklin: Uh uh! Bampa! (Grandpa)

Joe and AJ were at the annual Fathers' and Sons' Campout and saw a picture out on the lake under a floating dock that said, "Dangerous Anchors Below." AJ read it and was shocked that there were "Dangerour Alligators Below."

I better explain first that we finally convinced AJ that he could read more challenging books because the names are mostly made up, and it doesn't matter if you say them wrong in your head. Joe overheard this the other night at bedtime reading: AJ-Hey Natalie, there's a pegasus in the Mexican's Nephew. Do you want me to read it to you? (It's supposed to be The Magician's Nephew).

AJ: Dad, I made it to Chapter 8 (of Genesis)
Joe: AJ, maybe you should start reading The Book of Mormon. The stories are a little more exciting. The stories in the Bible can be a little boring.
AJ: Dad, if you say the scriptures are boring, that would be like a Lamanite. And that is not good!!

We recently participated in a survey for $80 (they paid us up front, so we felt guilty if we didn't do it). AJ had to say how much he agreed or disagreed with certain statements. One of which was, "I love playing sports." He said, "No...I mean YEAH!! Piano is a sport!"

Natalie likes a movie about a princess whose name is Annelise. So one day, she came in my bathroom with her hair combed differently and said, "Mom, you know why my hair is like this? It's just in case you decide to change my name to Annelise!

Natalie: Mom, I can see myself in the window, and don't I just look like Taylor Swift?
